Tea loves time

Tea Anti-Ceremony with Tata Frenkel
You are invited to our Anti-Ceremony tea session. It is an educational and artistic event.
What is Anti-Ceremony?
It is a format of deliberate rejection of tranquility, inversion of symbolism with inspiring conversation. Meant for meeting and celebrating natural spontaneity of movements and words. We taste too much and maybe go too far with it. Take it as a fun tea tasting filled with facts and lies, devianation and impractical solutions. Humorous and terribly serious. Storytelling and lists of number sequences prepared by Tata. Perhaps, anti-ceremony sessions is something that wasn’t rushed for years, required time and patience and finally we can meet for numerous cups of tea, beware that we’ll have only 8 seats available.
Join our delusional tea sessios, let’s throw some weight from the shoulders and smile stupidly, I guess.
What teas we will be tasting?
We will treat participants with a selection of Taiwanese High Mountain Oolong teas and at least two GABA Oolong varieties, featuring harvest of Summer and Spring 2025. The selection also highlights charcoal-roasted High Mountain Oolongs. Our focus is on exploring the natural sweetness in the taste and aroma profiles of Oolong teas – an expression shaped by various altitudes, location, roasting techniques, oxidation, in some cases leafhopper (bug-bitten) influence, diverse farming methods, and the distinctive characteristics of cultivars and plants.
Tata Frenkel is the founder of Chaiculator – the only tea company in the Baltic region focused on solely Taiwanese tea import that is offered through online shop and through experimental tea education platform. But except from that, Tata is an artist, musician, avid educator and a lecturer. Artistic articulation and interest of Tata lies in performative storytelling, electroacoustic and radio based technology development and teaching. Being a thereminist, Tata shares her work through elaborate formats, where education meets radioacoustics, meets sound and storytelling. Educational workshops and lectures of Tata have been presented in various Lithuanian and international museums, art universities, festivals and exhibitions. To put it shortly, Tata Frenkel mediates engaging storytelling and technology through teaching and sharing, defining such work with coined name “Unseen arts”. In 2023 Tata has been awarded with main prize of “JCDecaux award’23”. Works of Tata have been presented in National Gallery of Art (Vilnius, LT), Atletika gallery (Vilnius, LT), Tallinn City gallery (Tallinn, EE), Ars Electronica (Linz, AT)…..
